What is ceramic wool?
Ceramic wool, also called ceramic fiber blanket or refractory ceramic fibre, is high-temperature insulation made from alumina and silica melted at very high heat and spun into long, fine fibres. The fibres are needled into a strong, flexible blanket. It handles far more heat than rock wool or glass wool, so it is used inside furnaces, kilns and ovens, where other insulation would fail.
Ceramic wool and ceramic fiber blanket are available in Pakistan from A.Q TRADERS in Karachi. We import our blankets ourselves, so there are no middlemen: you get consistent, high-quality ceramic wool at competitive rates, from 1 roll to bulk orders.
Benefits of ceramic wool
- Handles extreme heat: rated to 1260°C, so it can line furnaces, kilns, boilers and oven chambers.
- Saves fuel and gas: very low heat loss at high temperatures, so more heat stays inside and less fuel is burnt.
- Heats up faster: much lighter than firebrick, so it stores less heat. Furnaces and ovens reach working temperature sooner and cool down faster.
- Does not crack from sudden heat: resists thermal shock, so it can take rapid heating and cooling without breaking.
- Non-combustible: refractory grade material that does not burn.
- Strong, flexible and easy to fit: cuts with a knife and wraps around pipes, doors and curved shapes. The 128 kg/m³ blanket has a high handling strength of 75 kPa.

Where ceramic wool is used
Factories, foundries, bakeries and oven makers across Pakistan use it for:
Industrial furnaces
Linings and doors of heat treatment, forging and melting furnaces.
Kilns
Ceramic, pottery, brick and glass kilns, as a lining or backup layer.
Bakery, pizza and tandoor ovens
Around the oven body to hold the heat in, save gas and keep the outside cooler.
Boilers and incinerators
Boiler doors, walls and burner areas, and incinerator linings.
Chimneys, exhausts and flues
Wrapped around generator exhausts, flue ducts and chimneys.
Steel, glass and foundry plants
Ladle covers, seals, expansion joints and high-temperature repairs.

Ceramic wool questions
What is the price of ceramic wool in Pakistan?
It depends on thickness (25 or 50 mm), density (64, 96 or 128 kg/m³), the number of rolls and the current import cost. Send us those details on WhatsApp and we’ll give you today’s rate per roll.
Is ceramic wool the same as ceramic fiber blanket?
Yes. Ceramic wool, ceramic fiber blanket, ceramic blanket and refractory ceramic fibre all mean the same material. Kaowool is a well-known brand name for it; our ceramic fiber blanket is imported and does the same job.
What is the difference between ceramic wool and rock wool?
Ceramic wool is rated to 1260°C and is used inside furnaces, kilns and ovens. Rock wool works up to 750°C, is lower in cost, and is used on boilers, steam lines and fire-rated walls. If the surface is hotter than 750°C, use ceramic wool.
What temperature can ceramic wool handle?
Our blanket is 1260°C grade. For long, continuous use, it is typically used up to about 1,000 to 1,100°C. Tell us your working temperature and we will confirm it is suitable.
Can I use ceramic wool in a tandoor or pizza oven?
Yes. It is wrapped around the outside of the clay or firebrick oven body, then covered with a cement, plaster or metal outer layer. This holds the heat in, saves gas and keeps the outside cooler. It should not be left exposed or in contact with food.
How many rolls of ceramic wool do I need?
Each 610 mm × 7.2 m roll covers about 4.4 m² (47 sq ft) in one layer. Divide your area by that and add 5 to 10% for joints and cutting. For two layers, double it. We can also cut it to the size you need, and there is no minimum order.
Is ceramic wool safe to handle?
Ceramic fibres can irritate the skin, eyes and throat. Wear a dust mask, gloves, long sleeves and safety glasses when cutting and fitting it, and cut it with a knife rather than a saw to keep dust down. Once it is installed and covered, it is not a problem.
Do you deliver ceramic wool outside Karachi?
Yes. We deliver to every city in Pakistan. Most orders reach Lahore and Islamabad in 2 to 3 days.
